Visit the Center for Native Futures’ exhibition booth at EXPO CHICAGO 2023 featuring works by four Native multimedia artists from the Great Lakes region. The photographic work of Tom Jones (Ho-Chunk) is a commentary on American Indian identity, experience, and perception. Holly Wilson (Delaware Nation/Cherokee Nation) creates figures as her storytellers to represent family history and personal experiences. John Hitchcock (Kiowa/Comanche) uses the print medium, with its long history of social and political commentary, to explore community, land, and cultural relationships. Dakota Mace (Diné) pushes the viewer’s understanding of Diné culture through her use of alternative photography techniques, weaving, beadwork, and papermaking.
